Diploma In Electrocardiographic Technique (DET)

Programme Duration: 2 Years

Course Objectives: To train students to work as Electrocardiographic (ECG) Technician and assist cardiologist in their duties. As an ECG technician, they must describe the electrical conduction system of the heart, identify the various positive and negative deflections and describe what each represents in the cardiac cycle and explain the purpose of standardization of the ECG.

Career Opportunities: Electrocardiographic (ECG) are an integral part of the medical profession. These professionals get involved in practical and technical work to aid correct diagnosis and effective functioning of Heart. The career prospects in this field depend on the academic and technical skills of the technologist/technician. Initially he/she joins any Hospital & diagnostic Centre as a certified ECG Technician.

Eligibility Criteria: 10+2 from a recognized board in India with Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, English.

Admission Procedure: Through SMFWBEE conducted by State Medical Faculty of West Bengal
